Overview

Job Title: Electronic Tester

Job Location: Williamsport, PA

Under general supervision, the MPM/TWT Test Technician performs assembly-level and device-level electrical testing, troubleshooting, verification, and acceptance of Microwave Power Modules (MPMs), Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs), and their high-voltage power supply (HVPS) sections. This role requires strong hands-on electrical capability, experience working safely with high voltage, and the ability to diagnose complex interactions between power supplies, vacuum devices, and microwave circuits. The technician is responsible for executing formal test procedures, tuning and matching circuits, recovering marginal hardware, and supporting both production and returned-product test efforts.

Responsibilities

Testing & Verification

  • Perform electrical testing and verification of MPM assemblies, TWTs, HVPS sections, and low-voltage control circuits following formal procedures.

  • Conduct acceptance, performance, burn-in, and environmental tests; maintain accurate and complete test data records.

  • Set up, configure, and modify test stations.

  • Adjust and test vacuum devices and TWTs to meet specifications.

  • Execute final acceptance test procedures.

Troubleshooting & Technical Problem Solving

  • Diagnose failing or marginal devices in HV multipliers, converters, bias supplies, and vacuum devices.

  • Recover non-conforming hardware with minimal engineering support.

  • Perform matching and tuning of microwave circuits.

  • Support root-cause analysis and test improvements.

Safety, Compliance & Workplace Standards

  • Work safely with high voltage (5–20+ kV).

  • Follow all security, safety, and configuration-control guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in Electronics and 3 years of experience in electrical testing using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power meters, signal generators and specialized high-voltage measurement instrumentation.

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and test procedures.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
