The Common Area Attendant/ Carpet plays a key role in in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our hotel by ensuring carpets in guest rooms, common areas and hallways are thoroughly cleaned and well- maintained. Additionally they may also assist with guest room cleaning, bell attendant duties, and carpet care, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Job Summary:
The Common Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all the common areas of the Hotel. This may also include performing duties of Guest Room Attendant, Bell Attendant, and Carpet Cleaner.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand and support Xanterras Mission Statement, Cultural Pillars, Community Commitment and Core Values.
- Greets all guests with an appropriate welcoming gesture, holding the door, and assisting guests with directions and questions as necessary.
- Cleans the five public Rest Rooms as well as the private Rest Room in Housekeeping: Clean mirrors, and counters Fill soap dispensers, replace Kleenex, refill paper towel dispensers, replace toilet paper, empty all trash cans, clean toilets, sweep and mop the floors, vacuum carpet entryways, and spray deodorizer when finished. These duties are to be repeated throughout the day as needed or requested.
- Cleans Carpets in the Hotel (Use the list received from the management team of vacant rooms; remove furniture and place it on beds, fill the machine with clean water and shampoo, clean carpet, place fans until carpet is dry, replaces furniture and turns the room over to Housekeeping, returning assignment sheet to housekeeping management)
- Keeps machinery clean and in good working order.
- Cleans carpets in depot offices, hallways, and meeting rooms in the hotel, along with chairs/furniture when needed.
- Cleans all slab floors in the lobby along with entryways on the north and south entrances of the hotel
- Assists in stocking linen closets and putting away incoming orders; on occasion, special assignments will be given, helping the hotel team.
- Removes soiled pool towels from the pool room: wash, dry, fold, and replace them in the pool room closet.
- Cleans Exercise Room: Wash windows and mirrors, empty trash cans, remove soiled hand towels and replace them with clean ones, and keep exercising equipment dusted, sanitized, and clean.
- Cleans Pool Room and Area: Wash windows, empty trash cans, mop floor inside and sweep outside, organize misplaced chairs and tables, and wipe clean.
- Empty trash cans, wash vending machine fronts, and sweep and mop the floors in Vending Machine Areas.
- Empty Trash Cans: Behind the Front Desk and in Housekeeping as needed; sweep and mop areas.
- Ensures the front exterior entrance is always free of debris, including checking all entrances around the building to ensure they are free of trash and debris; sweep and scrub as needed.
- Cleans Lobby: Vacuum carpet and stairs, mop stone tile, dust furniture, and gather any trash such as empty coffee cups, napkins, extra newspapers, etc. Wash windows and glass doors.
- Make sure coffee is made daily in the mornings and is taken to the assigned coffee station in the lobby during the AM shift.
- Cleans and stocks coffee station as needed.
- Makes sure ice water is stocked in the lobby for guests during PM shift.
- Vacuum when and where needed in the hallways, as well as clean baseboards and dust the light fixtures.
- Sweeps, vacuums, and mops as needed in the stairwell.
- Responsible for setting up meeting rooms according to the weekly list
- Vacuum, dust, and cle n in general in the Santa Fe Room and Grand Canyon Room:
- On occasion will be required to perform duties of Guest Room Attendant, and Bell Staff/Utility.
- Cleans spills as requested and deliver guest room amenities as directed by the Front Desk.
- Maintains cleanliness in the Housekeeping break room and office.
- Reports any maintenance issues and changing accessible light bulbs as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
