Manufacturing Technician - Vadnais Heights, MN
Pay Range: $25.00-$35.00 DOE. $1.00 shift differential for the night shift as well as weekend work days.
Day Shift: 6am-6pm - Tue, Wed, Sat Sun and Mon, Thu, Fri - two weeks rotating schedule
Night Shift: 6pm-6am – Mon, Thu, Fri Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun – two weeks rotating schedule
This is a direct hire role with a company specializing in medical technologies, working side by side with more than 100 medical device companies from startups to global giants to bring life-enhancing technologies to market. Summary: Performs mold changes, monitor and troubleshoots plastic injection molding machines. Including auxiliaries molding equipment such as resin dryers, mold heaters, external heaters, waterlines and sprue picker system.
Key Responsibilities:
Installing molds, raw material, line clearance, loading machine parameters, starting production runs, and often working with varies types of injection molding machines such as electric, hydraulic, vertical, horizontal and vertical rotary.
Analyzing molding process for defects (e.g., voids, non-fill, jetting, splay) and adjusting machine controllers to improve quality.
Analyzing tooling for defects (e.g., high gate vestige, pin push, parting line damages) and preventative maintenance.
Inspecting parts utilizing precision instruments such as microscope, calipers, tool scope, gage blocks and gage pins.
Updating mold change reports and maintaining accuracy of production documentations (MER, Production Logs and Job Travelers).
Execute DOE, OQ and PQ runs.
Collaborate with varies supporting departments to maintain the production output.
Ability to perform both effectively and efficiently while strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
Strict adherence to SOP and QMS.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding as a full-time mold change technician.
Knowledge in micro molding, insert and over molding.
Knowledge in 3-Plate, multi-B-halves injection molding tools and Hot Runner Systems.
Strong troubleshooting abilities, mechanical aptitude and fundamental understanding of plastic resin properties.
Proficiency in reading part print, tooling diagram, machine process parameters, its terminologies and knowledge of plastic injection molding.
Plastic Injection Molding technical education training, RJG, Paulson Pro Molder or Routis training/certifications preferred (Requirement for the Tech III position).
