Early Steps Learning Center Summer Camp Counselor - Richmond Heights and Wickliffe in Wickliffe, Ohio

Located in Richmond Heights and Wickliffe, Ohio. ESLC's Amazing Race Camp is now hiring for Summer 2026! We are looking for individuals who are smart, caring, hard-working, enthusiastic, and responsible- and most critically, are experienced in working with young children. Individuals must be able to commit to the full 10 weeks of camp (June-August.)

Opportunity to continue in Fall with Before/After School Program. We would like each of our camp counselors to be able to instruct kids in a focus area, including visual & performing arts, science, technology, creative arts, and much more.

Job Responsibilities

  • [Lead a group of 10-18 campers ages 5-12 in daily activities, including sports and games, creative arts, and Weekly theme-based curriculum]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Characterize a positive role model to campers and staff in your attitude and behavior]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Help children learn to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and to respect themselves and others.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Responsible for providing a quality camp experience for youths; ensuring their safety and growth in spirit, mind, and body on a daily basis.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Help write and implement curricular activities adequately for age groups served.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, opening and closing ceremonies, swimming, engineering, science, technology, Family Night, etc.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, CACFP and daily attendance.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}
  • [Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers' safety and their whereabouts at all times.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt"=""}

Qualifications (required):

[Upon hire, completion of ESLC provided First Aid, CPR certification, Child Abuse and Communicable Disease trainings.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Must be at least 17 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.**]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}
