Position Title: Project Superintendent FLSA status: Exempt
Department: Construction Reports to: Vice-President
Salary Level: Commensurate upon experience Location: Wichita, KS
Position Overview:
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the daily operations of leading projects including local infrastructure projects
such as highways, roads, parking lots, etc. The manager ensures that the operations meet the companys production goals
while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of paving operations of each assigned project.
Implement and enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines.
Manage a team for foremen, paving crews, operators, and subcontractors while monitoring production schedules
to meet customer demands and project deadlines.
Ready and interpret blueprints and detail sheets.
Oversee material deliveries, equipment maintenance and utilization to minimize downtime and cost.
Maintain record of daily activities and progress reports while communicating updates to upper management
personnel.
Verify and approve daily/weekly timesheets.
Work closely with the quality control team to maintain product consistency and troubleshoot any issues.
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all equipment (slipform pavers, curb machines, finishing tools, etc.) is
maintained to safety standards.
Ensure compliance with all environmental and regulatory standards, including waste management.
Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to team members.
Resolve conflicts, manage performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Coordinate with estimating team, project managers and contractors to ensure production schedules align with
project needs.
Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Oversee the maintenance of paving equipment and inventory of other supplies and materials.
Ensure that all paving equipment is in good working condition and meets safety standards.
Commitment to safety compliance and risk management.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of experience in concrete paving operations or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of concrete mix designs, placement techniques, and specifications for infrastructure projects.
Experience managing multiple projects.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid Kansas drivers license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will supervise approximately 30-70 employees.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to
airborne particles. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment
is usually loud.
