Job Summary
Coordinates and facilitates service delivery for one (1) or more college readiness and/or retention programs. Facilitates collaborations between program experts and end users.
Essential Functions
Monitors program plans, schedules and budgets. Collaborates with program experts to provide service solutions and recommends alternative actions based on tracking outcomes. Assists with the development of promotional materials, campaigns, and events. May lead staff in the design and implementation of marketing materials. Documents and tracks program progress compared to goals to assist program leaders in the development of program strategies, goals and vision. Coordinates and prepares reports, materials and presentations to support leaders with financial, operational and/or special programs. Coordinates and/or leads program tasks as assigned by program leaders. Consults with leaders or experts on new or complex issues to determine the appropriate course of action.
Job Duties
Recruitment of eligible students includes identifying and selecting students for relevant program services and activities.\ Educate and support students on college readiness to enhance students\' chances of entering a postsecondary institution.\ Facilitate individual and group study sessions and conduct and/or present ACT, financial aid, and career workshops for students and their parents.\ Collaborates with public school personnel and establishes relationships with community agencies to identify students for program participation and to develop a plan of support services for students.\ Arranges and accompanies students on field trips, college campus visits, and other related activities.\ Coordinates and administers the Middle School Summer Enrichment Program.\ Oversees the After-School Tutoring Program, including scheduling and implementation.\ Arranges for and assigns tutors in collaboration with middle school administration.\ Entering service data and submitting weekly activity reports\ Maintains accurate records and prepares reports as required.
Required Education and Experience:
- 60 hours of college coursework in education, administration, counseling or related field
- One (1) year of experience in educational program coordination with diverse populations or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of after-school and summer enrichment program planning, coordination, and implementation.\ Familiar working with student populations and/or similar educational opportunity programs.\ Strong communication skills, including presentation and/or public speaking.\ Understanding of problems faced by low income and potential first-generation college students.\ Competent with basic computer systems and software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- This is a grant funded position. A condition of the grant requires candidates possess a Master\'s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Science or related discipline AND one (1) year experience teaching and/or counseling middle school students.
- Prio TRIO/GEAR UP experience or other educational opportunity programs or organizations.
