Overview / Job Summary:
WSU Tech is seeking aMaintenance Technicianto support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of campus facilities and systems. This role helps ensure our buildings remain safe, functional, and welcoming for students, employees, and visitors.
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks, assists with minor construction projects, supports campus events, and responds to facility needs across multiple locations.
Your day-to-dayresponsibilitieswill vary, but are not limited to:
- Perform general facility maintenance including basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC support, painting, and equipment repairs.
- Support facility operations and projects, including minor construction buildouts, office moves, equipment setup, and campus event logistics.
- Respond to maintenance requests and facility emergencies, such as water leaks, electrical issues, HVAC concerns, and weather-related situations.
- Manage and respond to facility service tickets, maintain building access and key control processes, and coordinate work across campus departments.
- Assist with campus operations and safety, including courier services between campuses, supporting temporary staff, and reporting safety concerns.
- Maintain compliance with college policies and regulations while participating in professional development and other duties as assigned.
Requirements {#job-requirements-title}
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
- Previous experience in facility maintenance or building operations preferred
- Knowledge of general building maintenance and repair practices
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
