Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator FLSA status: Non-Exempt
Department: Construction, Materials & Asphalt Plants Reports to: Division Manager
Salary Level: Commensurate upon experience Location: Kansas
Position Summary:
We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. This is a skilled position requiring a strong
dedication to safety, teamwork, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of heavy machinery to
assist in construction sites, asphalt plants, and materials facilities. This role requires expertise in equipment operation,
adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a team environment to complete projects efficiently and on
schedule. The equipment operator works collaboratively with the team to minimize downtime and ensure compliance
with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment, including front end loaders, dozers, backhoes, etc.
Manage incoming aggregate materials, stockpile, and load aggregate feeder bins for high-capacity asphalt
production plant facilities.
Safely maneuver equipment in tight or high-traffic zones and load material into trucks.
Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Transport materials, dig trenches, level surfaces, and perform other operations.
Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies.
Daily inspection of equipment and reporting of any malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including site cleanup and material handling.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to perform repetitive work.
Ability to follow directions.
Position assists with repairs, breakdowns, etc.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in OSHA guidelines and MSHA policies and
procedures manual.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
Knowledge of welding and general mechanics preferred.
Must be flexible to work days, nights or occasional weekends.
Ability to communicate using two-way radios.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth
perception.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to
airborne particles. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work
environment is usually loud.
