Job Title: CNC Machinist – 1st and 2nd Shift
Job Description
The CNC Machinist sets up, operates, and maintains CNC milling and turning equipment to produce precision components that meet detailed engineering specifications. This role involves independent machine setup, G-code edits at the control, and thorough inspection of parts to tight tolerances in a modern, clean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines, including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis equipment as required.
Operate CNC lathes to perform turning, boring, drilling, and threading operations according to print specifications.
Load, run, and modify CNC programs at the machine, including making G and M code edits when necessary.
Perform tool changes, adjust tool and work offsets, and complete fixture and workholding setups independently.
Review and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and shop floor paperwork, including GD&T requirements.
Estimate hours required for assigned operations based on prints and specifications.
Inspect first-article and in-process parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore micrometers, height gauges, tape measures, spring gauges, thread gauges, and radius gauges.
Verify that diameters, lengths, surface finishes, and other critical features meet print and quality standards, holding close tolerances of ±0.001 inch or tighter as required.
Monitor machine performance during production and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain part quality and efficient cycle times.
Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues, including tool wear, chatter, and dimensional drift, and implement corrective actions.
Complete daily operator maintenance tasks and logs to keep machines in good working condition and promptly report any malfunctions to maintenance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following shop safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
Use shop software or systems to accurately record time worked on jobs for cost and productivity tracking.
Participate in regular meetings with supervision to discuss production status, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Produce parts that meet defined quality standards and demonstrate a clear understanding of what constitutes an acceptable finished product.
Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and supervisory staff to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Remain self-sufficient and work with minimal supervision after training is complete, taking ownership of the quality of finished parts.
Perform overtime work as required by production needs, including additional hours on Fridays when necessary.
Stand for extended periods, up to the length of the shift, while operating equipment and performing inspections.
Carry out other machining and shop-related duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations.
High school diploma or GED equival

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $52000.00/yr.
