ACE American Insurance Company Sr. Infrastructure Engineer in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey
Sr. Infrastructure Engineer (ACE American Insurance Company (Chubb)) (Whitehouse Station, NJ): Architect, implement, and automate IT infrastructure solutions leveraging VMware Cloud Foundation, Aria Suite, NSX-T, and Tanzu, on top of Cisco MDS and Dell PowerStore/ PowerMax storage networks, Cisco UCS and Nexus, and Dell MX hardware (15%); Investigate and diagnose incidents relating to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vRealize Suite, and vSphere Infrastructure and Virtual Machines (20%); Provide training and mentorship to junior team members. Act as subject matter expert and escalation contact for infrastructure-related issues (10%); Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of systems and key processes, and reviewing system and application logs (10%); Define, monitor and enforce the capacity and performance standards, metrics and thresholds, building instrumentation to effectively manage the environment (15%); Work closely with network, security, development, application and support teams to implement infrastructure components that support emerging technologies and applications (10%); Automate operational, monitoring, and integrity verification processes (i.e. runbooks) for hardware, server, and system resources and processes (10%); Implement common preventive maintenance practices for Dell PowerEdge and Cisco UCS hardware and VMware software suites (5%); and Produce and maintain operational documentation, understanding and tools to manage the VMware Cloud Foundation, vRealize (Aria) Suite, and vSphere platform (5%).The following skills and experience are required to perform the above-mentioned tasks: Experience with engineering hardware, operating systems, storage, and virtualization technologies in a global multi-data center enterprise organization; Experience with VMware hypervisors and VMware Cloud Foundation; Experience with server hardware architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting Cisco UCS and Dell PowerEdge MX infrastructure; Experience with VMware Aria (vRealize) Suite, including Aria Operations (vROPS), Aria Operations for Logs (Log Insight), and Aria Automation (vRA); Experience debugging complex-cross systems problems and documenting root causes, including remediation and detection; Experience with the following technology towers: Storage, Virtualization, Intel, Networking, Data Center Migration and Disaster Recovery; Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems (including Windows 2019/2022, and Red Hat Linux 8.x/9.x); and Experience working with risk and controls landscape. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field; VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification; and at least 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer specializing in hypervisor technologies or a related occupation. This position may offer limited hybrid flexibility, subject to company approval and in accordance with company policy.
