Job Summary:
Reporting to the Environmental, Health & Safety, Senior Manager, the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at Whistler Blackcomb will lead and manage all aspects of Environmental, Health & Safety across the resort. This position will work closely with Environmental, Health & Safety leadership, Resort EHS, Corporate and Field Operations for Hospitality, Retail & Rental, Distribution Centers and corporat leadership to create, build, implement and sustain an Environmental,Health & Safety culture that achieves world-class safety performance. This position willcollaborate cross functionally to ensure environmental, health and safety programs are properly vetted, dynamic, on-schedule and within budget. This position supports compliance with federal, provincial, state and local safety and health regulations in all aspects of Mountain operations and in support of Hospitality and Retail/Rental operations. This position will work and collaborate with internal and external partners in supporting our Company’s core value of Be Safe.

Starting Wage: $61,568.00 - $86,673.60 + Annual bonus

Job Responsibilities:
Drive, influence, and support the Company’s EHS strategy to achieve world-class performance within the travel and leisure industry Accountable for EHS performance at the resort, including lagging and leading KPIs
Be an unbiased leader and voice operations teams so they understand the risks and opportunities to drive, improve, and maintain superior EHS performance.
Conduct audits, inspections and self-assessments as required in collaboration with the Operational Compliance team
Advise and support the location/outlet leadership and all operations, including but not imited to: Mountain Division, Hospitality and Retail
Have a deep understanding of the core business needs and in doing so adjust safety strategy to address compliance and regulatory safety as well as risk management trends and regulatory focus areas
Engage with local, provincial, state and federal officials/regulators as necessary to support EHS compliance and best practices
Collaborate with regional environmental SME to ensure operational excellence for environmental programs and on-site response, including oversight of local construction projects to ensure compliance with permit requirements
Partner with regional environmental SME on implementation of resort oil pollution prevention, air pollution control, hazardous materials management, hazardous anduniversal waste management, water quality, drinking water, and dam management programs, training operations groups, performing inspections, and auditing.
Partner with local medical providers to promote employee return-to-work and worker’s compensation performance across all WB operations.
Provide threat assessment support where needed
Communicate across a variety of stakeholders in a matrix environment
Manage and execute projects according to plan within timeline and budget
Notify EHS Senior Manager of critical incidents and actions, including the local Environmental SME for any environmental-related matters
Serve as local system administrator in the Company’s EHS incident management system
Support Company injured worker initiatives and return to work programs

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in H&S or related field
Experience with safety management systems and injury management practices
Comprehensive understanding of WorkSafeBC
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including project management and incident management software
Proven experience leading a team to achieve objectives and results in a matrixed environment
Experience analyzing and advising on safety data analytics
Experience leading and implementing change
Experience accomplishing objectives through others
Knowledge of EHS practices
Preferred Skills & Experience:
3-5 years progressive EHS experience.
Professional certification in safety, health or environmental e.g. CRSP, OH&S Certification, CSP or ASP, PE, ARM
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level
Certificate of Recognition (COR) Internal Auditor an asset
OFA I first Aid certificate or higher an asset
