Associate Director, Medical Affairs Digital Enablement Lead

PURPOSE

The Medical Affairs Digital Enablement Lead is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering a portfolio of digital initiatives that drive Medical Affairs objectives, with a strong focus on omnichannel enablement. This role sits within Medical Impact and Effectiveness (MIE) and partners closely with the rest of Medical Affairs, IT, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure timely, compliant delivery of digital capabilities that support scientific engagement, insights generation, and medical operations. This role requires strong project management skills, a strong IT background, a proactive business-oriented mindset, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams to translate medical business needs into executable, cross-functional programs.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple Medical Affairs digital initiatives, from intake through launch, adoption, and post-launch enhancements;

  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and medical teams to translate business needs into digital solutions;

  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, and deliverables, while coordinating with vendors and/or internal teams to ensure on-time execution and tracking budgets against planned scope;

  • Evaluate new technologies that have potential to enhance medical operations and scientific engagement;

  • Track and mitigate risks in a regulated (GxP-aware) environment;

  • Ensure delivery aligns with Medical Affairs priorities and operating models while also supporting the overall pharma enterprise strategy;

  • Serve as a primary point of coordination for execution of MIE Omnichannel digital initiatives;

  • Ensure initiatives are designed and implemented in a compliant, scalable, and sustainable manner;

  • Verify solutions meet medical, regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements, guidelines, regulations, and company policies;

  • Align initiatives across regions and therapeutic areas as applicable;

  • Collaborate with field enablement teams to drive readiness, training, and adoption for Field Medical and Medical Operations teams;

  • Partner with data and analytics teams to define and track KPIs related to delivery, adoption, effectiveness, and business value;

  • Identify opportunities to improve digital delivery processes and ways of working, identifying and resolving roadblocks to digital adoption.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/hybrid delivery models;

  • Experience working with enterprise platforms (e.g., Veeva, CRM, analytics tools);

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex digital initiatives simultaneously with end-to-end accountability;

  • Skilled at working across medical, commercial, IT, global, and vendor teams to drive alignment and execution;

  • Ability to engage stakeholders, communicate effectively, and drive adoption of new digital tools and processes;

  • Ability to drive scalable processes, track KPIs, and optimize workflows;

  • Ability to connect business needs to digital solutions and demonstrate value;

  • Ability to navigate evolving digital ecosystems, integrations, and data-driven environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management, digital delivery, or IT roles;

  • Prior experience supporting Medical Affairs, R&D, Commercial, or regulated life sciences environments.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $156,000 - $234,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
