Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in Whippany, New Jersey
Description We are looking for an Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in Whippany, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in supporting financial operations within the retail industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills while contributing to essential business processes.
Responsibilities:
• Create and oversee purchase orders for vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines.
• Process purchase orders promptly and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct routine audits of inventory levels to ensure proper alignment with records.
• Manage accounts payable tasks, including timely invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure financial data consistency.
• Handle accounts receivable duties, including monitoring incoming payments and addressing outstanding balances.
• Enter and update accounting transactions to maintain comprehensive financial records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support financial reporting and operational needs. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Strong skills in bank reconciliation and account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with accounting entries and financial recordkeeping.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
