Work hours: 48 hours/week, Monday - Saturday, 8 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Anticipated Hours Per Week: Additional hours of work, i.e., on Sabbath, or holidays may be offered under this job order, but may not be required. The employer may require workers to work 48 hours per week but if it requests workers to work additional hours, the worker has the right to work only the 48 hours per week and not the additional hours offered by the employer.

Job Duties:

As a general farm laborer, employees will engage in the spraying of fertilizer and pesticide solutions on crops to protect the crops against insects, fungus, and weed growth using sprayer. Operate the production of grain, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Operation of tractors with plows, discs, sprayers, and combine harvesting equipment. Drive trucks and trailers to haul equipment and crops after harvest. May occasionally apply lubricant to equipment in the event it is necessary to prevent damage, though not performing any major repairs to equipment. Employees may assist with livestock operations on the farm. Employees may participate in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of farm buildings and grounds.

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Must have 3 months of experience operating farm equipment such as tractors, combines, and sprayers.

Position requires a Class D Commercial Driver's License

Must have ability to lift and carry materials or equipment 60-75 pounds frequently throughout the workday.

Position requires exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stopping or bending over, and repetitive movements.

Workers will work on their feet in bent, stooped and crouched positions for long periods of time.

Workers may be required to work during rain and snow conditions that are not severe enough to stop operations. Workers should be physically able to do the work required.

Workers will be expected to work on days that are deemed workable by Employer's management.

Disciplinary action may be taken if worker does not show up for work due to stated conditions. Workers are expected to be at work on time every day work is available and to work the full workday as specified in this job order.

Post-employment drug tests are paid for by employer when applicable.

$19.33 / Hourly

Additional Compensation

Workers may be entitled to bonus pay based on safety, performance, or other standards. Merit based bonuses may be given. Higher hourly rate may be given based on experience, tenure, skill, and other non-discriminatory factors. If any advances are given to workers, it will be deducted from their checks as allowable by Federal and State Law.

Employer may provide company attire and/or money for the employees to purchase their own company attire. Employer may provide reimbursement for cell phone if used if the employee is required to use cell phone for company purposes.

Employer may, in its sole discretion, pay workers their normal hourly rate if the workers are required to not work due to weather conditions, material delivery delays, biosecurity protocols, or other reasons outside the worker’s control.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 03/24/2025). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
