Research, design, and develop software. Support the development and implementation of real-time state estimation and control system solutions, which are integrated in automatic machine control products for the industries Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) serves. Design, implement, and optimize new machine positioning and control algorithms for heavy machinery. Support the full lifecycle of system development, including position estimation solutions design, feedback controls solution design, implementation, simulation, analysis, testing, and on-machine validation. Work effectively with application domain experts and within the established process framework. Conduct fundamental analysis on controls, signal processing, filter design, and related areas to provide predictability in engineering, scheduling and the quality of products developed.
Telecommuting is permitted 100%. Position reports to company HQ in Westminster, CO.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation.
Must include some experience in each of the following:
C++.
Python.
Matlab/Simulink.
Control system development for heavy machinery.
Software lifecycle packages including Jira and Git.
Automated software testing.
Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol.
