Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Day Shift | Clean Technology Manufacturing | Boulder → Broomfield, CO

About the Role ($37-$48)

We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to help build, commission, and maintain advanced industrial chemical fluid systems that dramatically reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional steelmaking methods.

You’ll start at our Boulder facility for hands-on training and system integration, then transition to a brand-new facility in Broomfield , where you’ll play a key role in building out equipment, supporting startups, and keeping systems running safely and reliably. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast‑growing, well‑funded clean technology startup and help shape our maintenance programs from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, assemble, and commission industrial chemical fluid systems , including pumps, motors, valves, meters, piping, compressors, and conveyors

  • Safely bring new systems online for startup and production

  • Own ongoing mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of chemical fluid systems and industrial machinery

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, meters, piping, compressors, and conveyors handling chemicals, fluids, and metals

  • Read and interpret mechanical fabrication drawings and P&IDs

  • Install and repair piping systems , including hydraulic and pneumatic components

  • Perform basic welding and fabrication to support installation, modification, and repairs

  • Use a CMMS to document work, manage work orders, and track preventive maintenance

  • Support system shutdowns, turnarounds, and restarts

  • Collaborate closely with a small, growing team to develop SOPs, maintenance plans, and best practices

  • Work safely around chemicals and industrial equipment while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial fluid or chemical systems

  • Hands-on experience with pumps, motors, valves, meters, piping, compressors, and conveyors

  • Strong background in preventive and corrective maintenance

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs

  • Basic welding experience

  • Experience installing and maintaining piping (hydraulics and pneumatics)

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems

  • Comfortable working around chemicals while following safety protocols

  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment and help build processes from scratch

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial or chemical system installation or commissioning experience

  • Shutdown or turnaround experience

  • Advanced fabrication or welding skills

  • background in clean technology, chemical processing, or metals processing environments

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Day shift:

  • 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

  • Overtime available as needed (not guaranteed)

  • First 2–3 months: Boulder facility for training and onboarding

  • Long term: Brand‑new Broomfield facility supporting system build-out and production

  • Climate‑controlled industrial environment with a strong safety culture

  • PPE required: lab coat, hard hat, safety glasses, and steel‑toe boots

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $48.00/hr.
