Actalent Electrical Project Engineer in Westminster, Colorado

Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description

This role combines electrical design, hands-on assembly, and project engineering for custom-engineered equipment. You will develop schematics, P&IDs, bills of materials, and technical documentation while also wiring and assembling electrical components on the shop floor. As the electrical lead on most projects, you will plan and execute design activities, participate in customer reviews, and ensure all work meets NQA-1 and UL508A quality requirements. This position blends design engineering with real-world build and test involvement, including onsite FAT/SAT at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design activities, set milestones, and participate in technical reviews.

  • Develop schematics, P&IDs, bills of materials, and technical documentation.

  • Wire and assemble electrical components on the shop floor.

  • Ensure compliance with NQA-1 and UL508A quality requirements.

  • Support production staff and contractors onsite for electrical assembly and wiring.

  • Perform factory and site acceptance testing and troubleshoot issues.

  • Participate in customer reviews and ensure project milestones are met.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a custom design and manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings.

  • Strong electrical design fundamentals.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other 2D CAD software.

  • Hands-on electrical assembly and wiring skills.

  • Ability to travel for factory and site acceptance testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (required for compliance).

  • A.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience OR B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience from an ABET-accredited institution.

Work Environment

This role involves a combination of office and factory settings, with exposure to mechanical parts and airborne particles. The environment can be loud during assembly and testing. The position requires occasional travel for site acceptance testing. Engineers will gain exposure to both technical engineering work and customer-facing project interactions, developing into well-rounded project engineers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $102000.00 - $121000.00/yr.
