Position Summary
Assist technical staff by planning and executing routine and non-routine tasks and experiments that have the most impact on product development or in defining the causes and solutions of technology challenges to support R&D product design, improvements, and material quality. Position is non-supervisory but does assist and train others through coordination and collaboration during projects.
Responsibilities
Executing Tests
Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using both basic and advanced laboratory techniques.
Practices proper safety procedures and reports unsafe acts or conditions when executing tests.
Exposure to health risks may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment, including the potential use of a respirator.
Planning Experiments
Plans and executes routine and non-routine testing, experiments, and tasks.
Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities.
Develops methods for new experiments or tests and documents methods appropriately.
Builds and maintains experiments and testing work schedules to meet business needs.
Provide insight and feedback to engineers on testing strategy and potential test issues.
Data Capture and Reporting
Collects, record, and transcribes routine and non-routine data.
Performs routine and non-routine calculations; creates routine and non-routine tables, charts and graphs.
Creates reports that summarize data in technical report format and analyzes for exception. Escalates and communicates exceptions and issues to appropriate levels efficiently.
What we are looking for
Required Skills and Experience
One year of pertinent experience/education in a technical laboratory or similar environment.
Good fundamental understanding of higher-level mathematics, mechanics, general science, and computer applications
Preferred Skills and Experience
BS or BA in Chemistry (or similar degree).
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working Relationships
Interfaces with supervisor for direction and guidance.
Works with and provides guidance to co-workers as necessary.
Interfaces with other EHI departments and locations to acquire or deliver necessary information.
Work Environment
Will work in a Research and Development technical laboratory setting. Occasional travel may be required, depending on role.
Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks requiring the use of hands, standing for extended periods of time, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
Exposure to health risks or conditions may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment, including the potential use of a respirator.
This position reports Monday-Friday, day shift. Occasionally, schedule may vary from typical business hours.

Total Rewards Package
The salary range for this position is USD $48,000.00/Yr. - USD $58,000.00/Yr.
Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
