MAIN FUNCTION:
All Therapy Aides have a responsibility for the welfare of the clients and the protection and security of all Seafield Center property.
User role(s) information systems access as assigned, where applicable
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all clients are treated with dignity and respect.
Affirming care for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning clients.
Monitor lounge, recreation, dining, and lecture areas for unauthorized individuals during Clinical Program hours.
Be familiar with fire systems, emergency procedures, and local emergency contacts.
Ensure client safety and property protection.
Transport clients to appointments and ensure building security.
Ensure doors are lit and locked at the start of shifts.
Monitor clients from midnight to 8:00 am, ensuring no unauthorized movement.
Assist with client discharges and perform minor maintenance tasks as needed.
Handle transportation requests and run errands.
Operate security cameras and manage client safes.
Perform other assigned duties.
Hall and Room Monitoring:
Check rooms after group/lecture begins for missing clients and escort them to their assigned areas.
Ensure clients stay with their groups unless authorized.
Assist with contraband searches and ensure visitors sign in.
Perform room searches and activate pay phones as scheduled.
Medical Office:
Communicate with staff about client behavior and maintain security.
Assist with 1:1 observations, medication monitoring, and medical tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Competency Requirements:
Conduct timely rounds and bed checks.
Knowledge of fire safety, reporting, and basic maintenance tasks.
Ensure client welfare and property protection.
Guide clients on policies, rules, knowledge of and instruction to new clients on proper handwashing technique.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two years’ experience in security field, preferably in a rehabilitation environment; attendance in a 12-step recovery program preferred. High school graduate; CPR certified; professional in behavior and possess good personal hygiene.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly twist, bend, push, pull, lift (up to 50 lbs), kneel, reach, stoop, crawl, and climb stairs.
Active position requiring standing and walking all day.
Frequently use hands to grasp or feel.
Visual acuity for accuracy and observations.
Work indoors and outdoors, subject to environmental conditions.
