CNC Programmers ? Westfield, MA 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) \$34-40/hr DOE ob Title: CNC Machinist Summary: Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, CNC machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. We currently have 3 Fadal and 2 Hass machining centers. Your duties and responsibilities are: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. A) Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to Determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. B) Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and material on machines as necessary to machine parts as required. C) Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures. D) Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary. Adjust tooling as required to assure parts meet the product specifications E) Performs routine maintenance tasks on machine as required. F) Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. G) Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area. H) Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you will get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. I Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to. J) Work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. K) Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms to load and unload product. The employee is expected to be able to press buttons, change dials and make adjustment to the controls while machining product. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Qualifications: Able to set up and operate a variety of CNC Machining Centers. Able to read drawings and use measuring tools and make simple adjustments to CNC programs. Must be a self starter.. able to work with minimum supervision. Experience with Haas and Fadal Machines a plus. Job shop environment with many different challenges.
