IES COMMUNICTIONS LLC Network Engineer I - OMS in Westerville, Ohio

Job Summary: The Network Engineer I - OMS (Operations and Maintenance Services) will deploy and support network infrastructure at the access layer and assist with device configuration, documentation, field-based troubleshooting, and advance knowledge in data center networking. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Configure Layer 2 switch settings, VLANs, and port assignments. Support rack buildouts, patch panel mapping, and IP assignments. Monitor network ports, assist in MAC address tracking, and patch audits. Collaborate with field teams during turn-ups and cutovers. Advance network troubleshooting. Handles other responsibilities as assigned. #LI-Onsite Min USD $30.00/Hr. Max USD $35.00/Hr. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements: Regular attendance is mandatory Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must be able to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installs. Must be enthusiastic, passionate, patient and a critical thinker. Must be able to communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must be able to work well with other people Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. 2-4+ years of hands-on networking or IT infrastructure experience. Familiarity with CLI tools, structured documentation, and cabling maps. Experience configuring switches from vendors like Cisco or Arista.
