Eversource Energy IT Associate Systems Engineer (Hybrid) in Westborough, Massachusetts

Role and Scope of Position:
Under direct supervision, handles the administration and support of less complex operating systems, desktop or file/print/application servers. Provides technical support for requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades or changes to operating system software and hardware, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to the operating system. Ensures stable performance for the operating systems environment through performance monitoring and tuning and performs capacity planning, and performance prediction. Ensures system maintenance as well as high level support of the operating system and all its related software and hardware components. Plans and implements less complex software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.

Job Description Summary:
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
In this supervised role, this position takes charge of the administration and support of operating systems, workstations, and interface/application servers. With a focus on delivering exceptional technical support. The individual collaborates on planning, coordinating, programming, and implementing releases, upgrades, and changes to applications, operating systems and associated hardware. They also handle a diverse range of products and tools that enhances testing and support of our critical production environments, proactively monitoring and fine-tuning performance, resources, and predicting outcomes, to keep our systems running at optimal performance. To stay in alignment with technological advancements, the individual will work closely with our team to orchestrate seamless software upgrades, strictly adhering to change management procedures, methodologies, and company standards.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates in the design, development, testing, coordination, implementation, maintenance, and administration of cutting-edge Windows-based IT Infrastructure and applications.
- Assists in analyzing business and technical needs, proposing innovative solutions to address them.
- Creates streamlined processes and tools to optimize support and maintenance procedures.
- Drives enhancements to existing programs, systems, and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Utilizes advanced troubleshooting tools to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Conducts thorough research and evaluation of new products.
- Designs and deploys software solutions, while managing hardware configurations.
- Takes ownership of software installation, configuration, testing, documentation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Provides exceptional technical support, troubleshooting problems to ensure seamless operations.
- Collaborates with cross-functional and technical teams to effectively support our critical systems.

- Proficiency in operating systems, relevant software and hardware products, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Any experience in Control Systems, LNG/LPG Plants a plus
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training
Experience :
- Minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of directly related experience

Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH facilities, as necessary.
