? 37 Hours per week -Rotating 12-hour shifts:
2 days 2 nights (5 days off)
2 days 3 nights (4 days off)

? The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mars factory in Birstall . We’re looking for a hands ‑on Area Leader to coach and support operators on our production lines, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and operational performance. Spending most of your timeline‑side, you’ll lead by example—driving efficiency, coordinating maintenance, supporting problem‑solving and maintaining exceptional hygiene and compliance standards.
This is a key frontline leadership role where you’ll guide your team, manage daily priorities and help deliver consistent, high‑quality products.

✅ What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment, with the ability to coach, direct and develop operators.
Strong problem ‑solving and fault ‑finding skills , able to identify issues, drive root‑cause analysis and support continuous improvement activity.
Good understanding of safety, food hygiene and quality standards, ideally including IOSH Managing Safely, Food Hygiene Level 3, and HACCP knowledge.
Competent with computer systems , able to record data, raise work orders, complete documentation and communicate effectively with other teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to give clear instruction, support team engagement and manage effective handovers.
? Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and supervise operators on production lines to maintain high standards in safety, quality and operational performance.
Validate and oversee quality checks, escalating any food safety or quality issues and ensuring non‑conforming products are managed correctly.
Drive line efficiency, ensuring adherence to labour standards, delivering against KPIs (TRS, waste, giveaway) and supporting effective changeovers.
Coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring correct handovers with engineers and operators, and raising/closing work orders as required.
Enable problem ‑solving and continuous improvement, coaching teams, addressing performance deviations and ensuring rigorous shift handovers
