STEM Internship Industrial Safety (Summer 2026) Compensation: $21.00 - $25.00 (Hourly) Need to be at least rising Jr in college The internship program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, develop practical skills, enhance knowledge, and make meaningful contributions to projects. Intern assignments will be determined based on business need and role availability with consideration to skills and development goals. The Industrial Safety Intern will gain knowledge and experience in all aspects of Industrial Hygiene and Safety including the safety program, fire protection, and field tasks. SPECIFIC PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITES Assist with planning and coordination of Safety Day. Perform program assessments on industrial safety, fire protection, industrial hygiene or occupational medicine programs. Work with Certified Industrial Hygienist to review and analyze sample data. Assist safety technicians with sampling and job oversight. Assist with implementation of a heat stress monitoring program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Pursuing a BA/BS in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety Must be at least a rising Junior Microsoft 365 proficient preferred Willing to work in a construction/demolition environment. Other Requirements: Ability to intern for 10 weeks Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new challenges MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/SCOPE OF WORK Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established safe work practices and procedures; including following all safety rules, use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), investigating and reporting identified safety concerns or situations. Participate in projects and deliverables as directed by manager. Support the team in preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation. Prepare a Final Presentation for Staff Managers at the end of the internship depicting internship experience and accomplished projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft suite. Exhibit professional behavior which promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Ability to effectively manage, organize, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Perform tasks under general supervision for most assignments.
