Safety Specialist I $68757.00 - $84019.00 Position is open through 4/11/2026 West Valley Cleanup Alliance is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1B Deactivation & Demolition Contract at the West Valley Demonstration Project site. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, West Valley Demonstration Project continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site. The Safety Specialist I is responsible for performing basic control tasks in connection with the company's safety and health and fire program and assists management in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual, federal, state, and local requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: BA/BS in Safety and Health or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to occupation. Preferred Qualifications: Basic problem-solving skills Ability to interface with internal and external customers Knowledge of 10 CFR 851 Worker Safety and health Program, DOE Order (O) 420.1C, Facility Safety, NFPA Standards, and OSHA Standards preferred.
