As a Senior Tax Analyst (SALT) at Dycom, you'll be responsible for designing efficient state tax processes and addressing complex business structuring issues. What you’ll do
Conduct technical reviews, including detailed preparation and execution, of state and local corporate and partnership tax returns and associated work papers, with a focus on multistate tax complexities
Prepare and perform a detailed review of estimated and extension payment tax calculations
Handle state and local income tax accounting, including calculating blended tax rates, tax provision, taxes payable, uncertain tax positions, and return-to-provision adjustment
Assist with the maintenance and compliance of key SOX controls related to US tax accounting
Assist with any tax projects that occur, such as tax planning, process transformation, restructuring, and due diligence
Assist with project and workflow management
Research and analyze existing and new state tax legislation and assist with determining tax effects and process impacts for both compliance and provision
Assist with investigating and resolving all state tax notices
Assist with resolving and responding to state and local audit issues and correspondence
Supervise tax administrative staff on various compliance, research, and planning projects
Identify potential process improvements and recommend implementation
Perform other job-related duties to support business needs
Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy, and relevance
What you’ll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a similar field
5+ years of overall experience with a minimum of 2 years of state and local income and franchise tax experience
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel using formulas and functions
Extensive experience with Microsoft Word
Working knowledge of tax research platforms such as CCH, BNA Intelliforms, or related
Working knowledge of OneSource Income Tax is a plus
Experience with Hyperion is a plus
Knowledge of Alteryx is a plus
Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel (up-to 10%) when required
CPA license preferred
A master's degree in Tax is a plus
Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely: Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods
Occasionally: Travel domestically up to 10% to attend team meetings or training
