Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Project Manager I to serve in an Owner’s Representative capacity within a municipality’s School System Construction Group, supporting the planning, execution, and closeout of small-to-mid-sized capital improvement projects. This is in support of one of our largest customers within the AEC/EPC industry. This role will manage projects typically ranging up to approximately $2M in total construction value, including parking lots and garages, roofing replacements, building retrofits, and other facility upgrades across schools within the system. The Project Manager I will act as the day-to-day liaison between the school system, design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage assigned capital projects from early planning through construction closeout, ensuring adherence to approved scope, budget, and schedule
Assist with pre-design and design-phase coordination, including scope development, constructability input, and review of drawings and specifications
Support procurement activities such as bid package review, contractor selection assistance, and coordination of contract execution
Serve as the school system’s representative during construction, acting as the primary point of contact for contractors, consultants, and inspectors
Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, and quality standards
Facilitate communication between school administrators, facilities staff, and construction teams to minimize operational disruption
Track project budgets, review pay applications, change orders, and cost forecasts
Assist with schedule development and monitoring, identifying potential risks or delays and escalating issues as needed
Support financial recordkeeping and reporting in accordance with municipal and public-sector requirements
Field Coordination & Construction Monitoring
Conduct regular site visits to observe progress, quality, and safety compliance
Support resolution of field issues, RFIs, and minor scope clarifications
Coordinate inspections, testing, and punch list completion
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain organized project documentation including meeting minutes, logs, and project correspondence
Assist with preparation of status reports for internal leadership and public stakeholders
Support project closeout activities including warranties, as-builts, and final documentation

Skills and Requirements
1–4 years of experience supporting construction or capital projects, preferably in an owner’s representative, municipal, or public-sector environment
Familiarity with construction documents, contractor coordination, and basic project controls
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects - Exposure to K–12, municipal, or institutional facilities projects
Experience working on projects in the $500K–$2M range
Understanding of public procurement processes and school system operations
