Job Title: Plumber Helper Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Plumber Helper/Pipefitter Helper to support journeyman-level tradespeople on large commercial and industrial piping projects. This role involves assisting with layouts, material handling, preparation, and installation of approximately 5,000 linear feet of 2” and 3” Schedule 80 CPVC in elevated pipe runs. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in overhead environments.
Responsibilities
Assist journeyman plumbers/pipefitters with layouts, measurements, and material takeoffs for large CPVC piping systems.
Support installation of elevated 2” and 3” Schedule 80 CPVC, including staging materials, prepping pipe, and setting hangers.
Help read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and project documentation under supervision.
Measure, cut, deburr, and prep CPVC pipe and fittings according to manufacturer guidelines.
Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and correctly.
Assist with building and maintaining pipe supports, hangers, and elevated work platforms.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and jobsite procedures.
Communicate effectively with journeymen, foremen, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Essential Skills
Experience in plumbing, PVC installation, or general labor in construction.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and isometric drawings.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1–2 years of plumbing, pipefitting, or construction experience preferred.
Ability to work at heights using lifts, ladders, or scaffolding.
Basic understanding of plumbing or mechanical systems is a plus.
Willingness to learn advanced piping skills.
Must have reliable transportation.

Travel expenses are covered for distances over 60 miles from the office, including hotel accommodations and daily allowances.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Memphis, AR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
