QUALIFICATIONS:

• Iowa teaching license endorsed in 5-12 or 7-12 English equivalent required

• Must believe that all students can learn

• Must possess a collaborative nature

• Must understand the importance of culture in a middle school and its effect on academics

• Must be an innovative, passionate, and energetic individual

• Successful prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred but not required

• Successful experience working with diverse learners including Special Education and ESL preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students

• Aligns lessons with Iowa Core and ELP standards

• Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students

• Employs methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives

• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports

• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required

• Develop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnel

• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence

• Works collaboratively with content area/grade level teams

• Full-time position, beginning with the 2026 - 2027 school year
