Join UCLA Health as

a Pharmacy Supervisor, a key leadership role within Ambulatory Pharmacy

Services. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee a specialized

team of pharmacists and technicians supporting outpatient pharmacy operations

and pharmacy-led clinical services. This position is responsible for ensuring

regulatory compliance, maintaining efficient workflows, supporting staff

performance and development, and continuously improving operational

effectiveness across assigned areas.

In this role, you

will provide operational oversight for the procurement, storage, preparation,

dispensing, distribution, and auditing of pharmaceuticals, including controlled

substances and hazardous products, in alignment with departmental policies and

regulatory requirements. You will maintain and implement standard operating

procedures, ensure training and competency completion, and support readiness

for accreditation and audits. As a people leader, you will supervise, coach,

and develop pharmacy staff by supporting hiring, onboarding, scheduling,

performance evaluations, and corrective action when needed. You will promote

cross-training and continuity of care across workflows, ensuring your team

operates at a high level of performance, productivity, and service. You will also collaborate closely with clinic

partners and departmental leadership to expand and enhance pharmacy services,

support new initiatives, and improve patient access to therapies. This includes

participating in direct patient care activities and serving as a liaison

between pharmacy and clinical/non-clinical departments to strengthen

communication, service quality, and patient satisfaction.

Schedule: full-time

varied hours, depending on departmental needs, fully onsite

Annual Salary Range:

$144,400 - $341,800 (Commensurate with experience and aligned with internal

equity)

Qualifications

We're seeking an

experienced pharmacy leader with:

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy

  • Current California Pharmacist license in good standing

  • Minimum 5 years of outpatient pharmacy experience

  • Strong knowledge of outpatient pharmacy workflows and ability to supervise daily operations across multiple workstreams

  • Demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with state/federal regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., CA Board of Pharmacy, CMS, DEA, FDA, The Joint Commission)

  • Experience supporting controlled substance stewardship, hazardous product handling, and safe medication distribution practices

  • Ability to develop, implement, and communicate departmental policies and procedures

  • Experience hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and evaluating pharmacy staff

  • Ability to support departmental performance improvement initiatives, including medication event and adverse drug reaction reporting

Preferred

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy specialty and/or leadership certification (e.g., BCACP, BCPS, BCSOTP, BCDE, or other relevant board certification)

  • Experience supporting and optimizing the 340B program within the assigned practice area

  • Leadership certification or equivalent leadership experience
