Overall Purpose and Objective:

Electromechanical Technician will work directly under the Maintenance Lead Man to perform maintenance tasks necessary to maintain the proper operation of the treatment plant, pump stations, or satellite treatment units.

Performs the duties of the Maintenance Lead Man in his/her absence

 

Overall Job Responsibilities:           

This is a technical/mechanical position. Employee must have basic electronic and electromechanical skills to be able to independently troubleshoot mechanical problems at the Authority's treatment plant, pump stations, or satellite treatment units in the service area.

 

Specific Job Duties:

  1. Employee shall perform various maintenance duties as directed by the Director of Operations, Operations Manager, other Authority Management, and or the Maintenance Department Head.
  2.  Employee shall maintain and repair all operating mechanical and electrical equipment, including PLC motor control and instrumentation troubleshooting.
  3. Employee shall perform minor carpentry work consistent with past practice such as hanging doors, building shelves, furniture assembly, etc.
  4. Employee shall be responsible for sharing 24-hour callbacks and weekend monitoring of remote pump stations.

     

Experience:

Minimum 3 Year Electrical and/or Electronic degree or certification required from an accredited college or mechanical/electronic institution. Must also have welding, plumbing and fabricating capabilities relating to general maintenance.

 

Physical Demands of the Position:

Employee shall be able to lift 80 pounds.

Employee shall be in sufficient physical condition so as to perform the job duties and responsibilities as required by the position.

Employee shall be in sufficient physical condition so as to enter confined spaces while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment to make repairs in tight areas of the treatment plant.

 

Work Environment:

Employee shall work in an environment that produces malodors, which are commonly generated in Sewage Treatment Plants.  The employee may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Employee shall be a citizen of the United States of America or possess permanent resident status and the appropriate work visa.

Employee shall pass a required Physical Examination.

Employee shall possess a valid PA Driver License.
