Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for addressing maintenance issues and projects within the facilities. This includes both simple handyman tasks and facility improvement projects.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily walk-throughs of buildings to identify and address any issues, ensuring everything is in good working order.
Prioritize and address the facility's needs for repairs and projects.
Complete small electrical projects as needed.
Utilize knowledge and skills for various facility upkeep needs.
Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and department manager regarding the progress and success of facility needs.
Use computers and complete necessary paperwork.
Operate all tools required to complete maintenance projects.
Troubleshoot daily issues effectively.
Essential Skills
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
Strong leadership and collaborative skills.
Experience with repairs and updates of facilities.
Attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Quality-driven mindset.
1+ years of experience in building maintenance (commercial or residential) or considerable experience in skillsets such as carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, wiring, low voltage, framing, mudding, painting, and groundskeeping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, groundskeeping, and lighting.

Work Environment
Work in a manufacturing environment across multiple facilities. The shift is Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with mandatory overtime as needed. The environment can be noisy with temperature extremes and equipment hazards. Dress code includes work-appropriate shirts, jeans or shorts, and steel-toe footwear. The facility is not temperature-controlled, so it can get hot. Training will be hands-on with the maintenance team, focusing on safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
