Associate Sourcing Specialist

Position Overview

Our Furniture Retail client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sourcing Coordinator to support seasonal sourcing activities and vendor performance management for our home lifestyle product categories, including holiday and outdoor furniture. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for collaborative work across diverse teams and cultures.

This will be a 40hr/week freelance role that is expected to be a 6 month role with opportunity to extend. They would prefer someone who can be Hybrid in West Chester, OH but may be open to someone who is fully-remote. 

Remote candidates must be located in: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina or Texas. 

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Sourcing Specialist in achieving key costing objectives and meeting calendar milestones
• Manage sample tracking, costing, and production status reports
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, Quality & Compliance, Merchandising, and Inventory teams
• Ensure brand standards are upheld in product quality, branding, and packaging
• Obtain expedited shipping quotes and maintain vendor training documentation
• Analyze sourcing, sales, and costing data to identify patterns and inform decisions
• Maintain accurate product development records and prepare daily PD folders
• Communicate key reports and updates with overseas agents and vendor partners
• Prepare pricing charts and assist in negotiations
• Facilitate SKU setup and coordinate with Import Compliance Teams
• Take accurate meeting notes and communicate action items to relevant teams

Qualifications

• 1+ years Sourcing experience preferred within applicable home lifestyle categories if possible.
• General understanding of basic manufacturing processes for assigned categories preferred (Holiday and outdoor furniture)
• Extremely organized, experience with large volume of projects and project management preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills. Quick learner.
• Strong financial reporting and quantitative analysis skills; retail math skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work within all levels of the organization.
• High sense of urgency with ability to on-the-spot problem solve.
• Ability to function independently or in a team and show sound judgment in a fast-paced environment. Self -motivator.

• Outlook, Excel and Office Suite proficiency required
