Job Description
The Professional Science Consultant (Tutor) will meet with students to provide students on the Keokuk Campus Tutoring services for Anatomy & Physiology, as well as Microbiology. The ideal candidate would be able to Tutor in Chemistry as well. This position falls under the supervision of the Learning Resources Coordinator.
Job Description:
12-16 hours per week, scheduled Monday-Thursday from 9am to 3 pm.
This position runs with the SCC Academic Calendar for Fall & Spring semesters. This position would begin ASAP , run through May, & return in August for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
Pay rate is $19 per hour. These positions are part-time hourly positions, and are not eligible for SCC benefits
Tutoring sessions run 50 minutes beginning on the hour.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree with sufficient collegiate coursework in the Science, & ability to assist students with Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, & potentially Chemistry coursework.
Excellent customer service skills required.
A copy of unofficial transcripts must be sent as well.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Human Health & Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Nursing, Kinesiology, or related filed of study.
Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students
Experience working as a Science Tutor or in a Tutoring Center
Experience working with adult learners
Base-level technology knowledge
