Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Supervisor serves as a hands-on team leader who actively works on the production line while directing and coordinating the activities of the crew. This role is responsible for deploying personnel efficiently, maintaining production schedules, driving process improvements and corrective actions, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work area. The Production Supervisor communicates effectively across all team members and shifts to support consistent, high-quality production output.

Pay: $29+/hr

Shift: Night shift 2,2,3 schedule: 6:00pm - 6:00am OR Day shift 2,2,3 schedule: 6:00am - 6:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the production team while performing one of the roles on the crew, setting a positive example for safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Communicate clear job expectations to team members, including daily tasks, performance standards, and production goals.

  • Plan, monitor, and appraise individual and team performance, providing coaching, counseling, and corrective feedback as needed.

  • Support staffing needs by participating in the selection, orientation, and training of employees, and by fostering opportunities for personal and professional growth.

  • Maintain an efficient workflow by monitoring each step of the production process and ensuring that processing variables and control points are properly managed.

  • Observe and oversee the use of equipment and resources, making adjustments as needed to meet production targets and quality standards.

  • Study current methods and implement cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Develop and maintain reporting procedures and systems to track production performance, and use this data to drive continuous improvement.

  • Facilitate prompt corrections to malfunctions within process control points to minimize downtime and maintain consistent output.

  • Promote and foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork within the department and between other departments and shifts.

  • Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, and ensuring that work is completed according to the manufacturing schedule.

  • Monitor progress throughout the shift, revise schedules as needed, and resolve production issues to keep operations running smoothly.

  • Report results of production flow through accurate and timely shift production summaries and other required documentation.

  • Maintain quality service by establishing, communicating, and enforcing organizational standards and quality requirements.

  • Ensure the proper operation of equipment by requesting repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques when appropriate.

  • Compile, initiate, sort, and analyze production performance records and data, and respond to questions or requests for information.

  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, control methods, and personnel requirements, and implementing changes to improve performance.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and other shifts to ensure a smooth handoff of work, consistent processes, and clear understanding of priorities.

  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment by following and enforcing safety policies, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong production management and production supervision skills, with the ability to coordinate people, processes, and resources effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a department or work group, including setting expectations and holding team members accountable.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact effectively with multiple shifts and departments.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, schedule work, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

  • High attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures.

  • History of involvement in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancement activities.

  • Ability to analyze production data and performance records to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment that requires regular physical activity and adherence to safety standards. The position involves walking, using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, and frequent communication. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required. Visual demands include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to safely and accurately perform tasks. The work area may have high noise levels that require the use of hearing protection. Safety glasses and safety gloves may also be required, and employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and use designated personal protective equipment as directed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of West Bridgewater, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.

  • Employee referral bonus program – up to $1500.00 per referral
  • Attendance Bonus plan - up to $1500.00 per year
  • ONLY 15 WORKING DAYS PER MONTH
  • 12-hour shifts, both days and nights available.
