Job Description:
Performs other duties as assigned. Administers medications accurately and appropriately, including PO, SQ, IV, IV PUSH, IVPB, IM, SL, PR, topical, and intradermal.
Provides education to patients and families about medical and nursing care, medications, tests, procedures, and discharge instructions.
Responds to and participates in emergency situations, utilizing BLS and ACLS protocols.
Assists physicians with bedside procedures and ensures proper implementation of EMS and nursing actions.
Maintains a professional rapport with physicians, patients, and families, utilizing age-appropriate communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs. [Required]
Education:
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]

Work Experience:
• 3+ hospital experience/ 1 year ems experience. internship and/or preceptorship [Required]
• Dependent upon nursing/ems experience. unit specific competency must be met per orientation pathways. the majority of employees will require a minimum of 12 months after orientation completed to achieve proficiency. [Required]
