Program Overview:

Launch your career with Siemens as a field service engineer supporting our Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear and distribution systems. Join our LV/MV Field Service Engineering Development Program and gain hands-on expertise in one of the industry's most critical areas.
The LV/MV Field Service Engineering Development Program positions you as an integral member of Siemens Industry, Inc.'s Smart Infrastructure – Electrification & Automation (E&A) team. This one-year development program features a structured learning pathway combining classroom training with extensive field experience across the United States, exposing you to both voltage classes and their diverse applications.
Role Description:
Phase 1 – Online and Classroom Onboarding and ProductFamiliarization (1 month):
ExtensiveEnvironmental, Health and, Safety (EHS) online and in person training
Structuredtraining at SI EA Wendell, NC headquarters led by Power Academy
Safetycertifications and equipment fundamentals for both LV and MV systems
Phase 2 – Introductory FieldExperience (2 months):
Travelacross the U.S. supporting field service operations
Shadowexperienced field service engineers on customer sites
Hands-onexperience with LV and MV switchgear installation, commissioning, andmaintenance
Real-worldexposure to utility, industrial, and commercial applications
Key Responsibilities:
Install,test, and commission LV and MV switchgear systems
Performpreventive and corrective maintenance on both voltage classes
Troubleshootequipment issues in customer environments
Providetechnical support to customers across diverse industries
Documentwork and maintain comprehensive service records
Ensurecompliance with electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA)
Supportequipment diagnostics and performance optimization
Assistwith factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT)
Participatein equipment commissioning and startup activities
Phase 3 - Online and Classroom Product Training and SoftSkills Training (1 month):
Focuson switchgear design, operation, and maintenance
Circuitbreaker technology and maintenance procedures
Powerdistribution optimization across voltage classes
Loadmanagement and protection coordination
Equipmentlifecycle management
Maintenancebest practices and predictive diagnostics
Introductionto Siemens relays
Phase 4 – Field Training and Demonstration of learnedskills (3 months)

Systemintegration and commissioning procedures
Remotemonitoring and diagnostics
Phase 6 – FinalField Training with senior FSE’s (1 month):
Travelacross the U.S. supporting field service operations
Shadowexperienced field service engineers on customer sites
Hands-onexperience with LV and MV switchgear installation, commissioning, andmaintenance
Real-worldexposure to utility, industrial, and commercial applications
Key Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:
Associate’sor Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from anaccredited institution, graduating Spring 2026
Passionateabout hands-on technical work and problem-solving
Excellentcommunication and teamwork skills
Abilityto start full-time employment in June 2026
Willingto travel up to 80%
Legallyauthorized for employment in the United States without current or futureemployer-sponsored work authorization
Validdriver's license and ability to drive to customer sites
Physicalability to perform field work (climbing, lifting, working at heights withproper safety equipment)
Abilityto obtain and maintain electrical safety certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienceor coursework in power systems and electrical distribution
Familiaritywith electrical safety standards and practices
Interestin utility or industrial electrical systems
Basicunderstanding of control systems or automation
Previousinternship or field experience in electrical engineering
