Location: Various sites throughout Tioga County, including Lawrenceville, Elkland, Knoxville, and Westfield
Start Date: June 8, 2026 (for onboarding, training, and site preparation)
Program Duration: June 15 - August 7, 2026
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

UPMC is looking for enthusiastic and dependable individuals to join our team as Summer Recreation Aides. This temporary role is ideal for those who enjoy working with children and promoting healthy, positive experiences.
Position Overview
As a Summer Recreation Aide, you will provide engaging, age-appropriate health, nutrition, and recreational programming for youth at multiple locations across Tioga County. The position begins on June 8, allowing time for onboarding, training, and site setup ahead of program launch.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate discussions on healthy decision-making while modeling positive behaviors.
Plan and lead weekly themed activities, ensuring materials and equipment are prepared.
Guide participants in preparing healthy snacks they can sample and take home.
Maintain accurate attendance records and prepare monthly program reports.
Assist Summer Feeding staff with meal distribution at program sites.
Intervene appropriately in participant situations and assess minor injuries, developing basic plans of care as needed.
Serve as an ambassador for UPMC Susquehanna by consistently demonstrating C.A.R.E.2 and Service Excellence behaviors.
Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Incorporate evidence-based practices to support quality and safety in daily work.
Identify and report potential safety concerns, incidents, or inefficiencies in accordance with policy.
Encourage involvement and open communication among participants, families, and service partners.
Take responsibility for personal development, education, and continuous learning.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
