Description
Pay Rate: $25.00 an hour
SUMMARY: To construct, maintain, repair and upkeep the interior and exterior of the facilities including cabinetry, framing, trimming and sheet rocking all new and existing projects. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Construct, stain, laminate and install cabinetry
Frame walls, partitions, ceilings and flooring
Hang sheet rock
Remodel existing structures
Repair damaged walls, fixtures, and the like
Estimate materials required for projects
Maintain carpentry tools
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
2 years training or apprenticeship in carpentry or cabinet making
2 years on-the-job carpenter experience
Proven knowledge of safe operation of all tools relating to carpentry
Skills
Required:
Accurate and detail-oriented
Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Strong aptitude for woodworking

Ability to work fast and efficiently
Ability to independently complete multiple tasks in a professional manner
Ability to maintain high confidentiality
Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
REQUIRED TRAINING
Treasure Island guest service training
Bloodborne Pathogens training
Any position-related training as determined by department manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time
Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
Must be able to climb a ladder
Must be able to independently lift 25+ pounds routinely
Must have manual dexterity necessary to manipulate equipment
Must have good eye hand coordination
Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
Maintenance shop environment including excessive noise, such as power tools, dust and fumes from paints, varnishes, stains and the like
Required to work in extreme weather such as wet, damp, high wind, ice and snow
Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
Occasionally overtime may be required
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
