Job Summary:
We are seeking Cooks to join our dynamic care team at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of food service for our residents. Part-time opening is 12p-8p shift. Schedule is week 1: Monday & Saturday; week 2: Sunday & Friday.
Full-time opening is 6a-2p with an every other weekend rotation.
Responsibilities:
Prepare food to ensure quality food service is provided at all times under the direction of our Director of Dining Services
Follow therapeutic diets ordered by physicians
Ensure proper serving temperature of food
Maintain visual appeal of food
Monitor daily nourishments, follow standardized recipes, and assure proper portion control
Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedure
Perform other duties assigned by the manager
Requirements:
Prior culinary experience
Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
Knowledge of dining service procedures as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing home operations
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
Ability to maintain care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of work areas
Ability to perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with the willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
