Athena Health Care Systems Housekeeping Director in Webster, Massachusetts

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Housekeeping and Laundry to join our team at Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. As a key member of our care team, the director will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping and laundry departments, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facility, and providing exceptional customer service to our residents and staff.

This position also oversees the housekeeping/laundry department of Lanessa Extended Care, our sister facility next door. Weekly pay! Salaried role ranging from $30 to $34 an hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, including staffing, budgets, and more

  • Meet the laundry and housekeeping needs of the facility, managing the department within labor and supply budget guidelines

  • Ensure the completion of the laundry process and the delivery of adequate levels of linen

  • Maintain inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment

  • Supervise and train housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure high-quality work and excellent customer service

  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment

  • Monitor and maintain the condition of facility equipment and machinery, reporting any issues or concerns to management

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective operations

  • Maintain confidential records and reports as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in related field preferred

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Training in the operation of laundry equipment, practices, and procedures is preferred

  • Knowledgeable in building cleaning and floor maintenance techniques

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public

  • Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing housekeeping functions in long-term care facilities
