What You'll Do
Teach high school science courses (course assignments may vary based on certification and district needs)
Create engaging learning experiences that promote inquiry, investigation, and scientific thinking
Support students in developing problem-solving and analytical skills
Incorporate hands-on and real-world applications into instruction
Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instruction
Contribute to a positive and supportive high school culture
What We Offer
Minimum starting salary: $50,000 for educators new to the profession
(2026 - 27 salary schedule pending board approval)

Licensure / Endorsement Requirements
Preferred candidates will hold one or more of the following Iowa science endorsements:
5-12 Biology - 151 preferred
5-12 Chemistry - 152
5-12 Physics - 156
5-12 Earth Science - 153
5-12 Science Basic - 1541
5-12 All Science - 185
Other applicable Iowa science endorsements may be considered.
Candidates without a Biology endorsement but willing to obtain it may also be considered.
Candidates who are eligible for licensure or are currently completing an approved teacher preparation program are encouraged to apply.
Job Requirements
Citizenship, residency, or a work visa is required.
