    What You'll Do

  • Teach high school science courses (course assignments may vary based on certification and district needs)

  • Create engaging learning experiences that promote inquiry, investigation, and scientific thinking

  • Support students in developing problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Incorporate hands-on and real-world applications into instruction

  • Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instruction

  • Contribute to a positive and supportive high school culture

    What We Offer

    Minimum starting salary: $50,000 for educators new to the profession

    (2026 - 27 salary schedule pending board approval)

    Licensure / Endorsement Requirements

    Preferred candidates will hold one or more of the following Iowa science endorsements:

  • 5-12 Biology - 151 preferred

  • 5-12 Chemistry - 152

  • 5-12 Physics - 156

  • 5-12 Earth Science - 153

  • 5-12 Science Basic - 1541

  • 5-12 All Science - 185

  • Other applicable Iowa science endorsements may be considered.

  • Candidates without a Biology endorsement but willing to obtain it may also be considered.

    Candidates who are eligible for licensure or are currently completing an approved teacher preparation program are encouraged to apply.
