What You'll Do
Provide instruction and support for elementary students with diverse learning needs
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction
Build strong relationships with students and families
Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture
Conducts assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs
Participates in IEP meetings and develops Individualized Education Plans
Implements IEPs and behavior intervention plans
Collaborates with staff, families, and outside agencies
Supports students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
Maintains accurate records and monitors student progress
Encourages family engagement and communication
Participates in ongoing professional learning
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Knowledge of special education practices and differentiated instruction
Understanding of data systems and progress monitoring
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Commitment to continuous professional growth
Physical Demands
Work is performed in a standard school environment.
Licensure / Endorsement Requirements
Preferred candidates will hold one or more of the following Iowa endorsements:
K - 6 Elementary Classroom Teacher - 102
K - 12 Strategist I - All - 259
K - 8 Instructional Strategist I: Mild/Moderate - 260
Other applicable Iowa content endorsements may also be considered!
Candidates who are eligible for licensure or are currently completing an approved teacher preparation program are encouraged to apply.
