Project Engineer (PE)
Position Summary
Imperial Construction is seeking a Project Engineer (PE) to support the successful delivery of our commercial construction projects. This position works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep projects organized, documented, and moving forward—both in the field and behind the scenes.
This is a hands-on, detail-driven role where you’ll be involved in the day-to-day flow of the job. From managing submittals and RFIs to supporting billing, coordination, and project closeout, project documentation, progress tracking quality, you’ll help ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities
Support Project Managers with project documentation and reporting
Manage and track submittals, RFIs and assist with drafting meeting agendas and capturing meeting minutes
Maintain accurate and organized project records.
Create and maintain project data within company systems (including Procore, and internal network files)
Coordinate and communicate daily with subcontractors, vendors, your assigned project team and agencies
Support Superintendents with jobsite needs, logistics, and documentation as required
Help facilitate weekly construction meeting minutes and distribute updates to the project team
Track project progress through photos, punch lists, and closeout documentation
Help ensure compliance with project requirements, including labor postings and site-specific documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
3–5 years of experience in construction or a related role preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and project requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, , Blue Beam, Microsoft Project or P6.) is a plus
Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Experience
Experience working on commercial construction projects
Familiarity with subcontractor coordination and project documentation workflows
Experience supporting multiple project stakeholders (owners, architects, subcontractors)
Working knowledge of project management/accounting systems/document flow
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
Work is performed both in an office setting and on active construction job sites. Mainly in the field
Regular movement between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day
Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, or navigating active jobsite conditions
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed
Must be comfortable working in environments with moderate noise levels and typical construction site conditions

Project documentation is accurate, organized, and consistently up to date
Communication with project teams, subcontractors, and partners is timely and reliable
Submittals, RFIs, and Meeting Agendas and Minutes are processed efficiently without delays to the project
Project Managers and Superintendents can rely on you to keep administrative and coordination tasks moving
