Puffing OperatorFrito Lay, part of PepsiCo, is looking for a Puffing Operator to work in our fast-paced 24-hour operating manufacturing environment. The Puffing Operator position is responsible for operating process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe environmentally responsible manner.Frito Lay is a progressive employer, utilizing high perform work systems focused on driving results through organization development. It takes teamwork for a facility to run smoothly, so you can expect to work weekends and holidays with the rest of the team. In this role, here are some of the frequent tasks you will be doing:Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment and keep food zones free of contaminants.Inspect conveyor belts at the start and end of each shift for fraying, cracks, and cleanliness; keep them clear of buildup and foreign materials.Ensure product quality by producing food that meets all specifications.Perform periodic cleaning of puffing units to prevent carbon buildup and damage to ring dies and molds; identify when cleaning is needed.Monitor throughput rates and operate the required number of machines to meet production goals.Communicate effectively with supervisors and related operators (seasoning and packaging) throughout the shift.Adjust equipment specifications to meet production requirements.Perform additional tasks as needed, including working in other production areas; follow directions and learn new skills.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
