Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Portfolio Chief Engineer to lead and oversee a family of programs at our New Jersey sites. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the RF Electronic Warfare domain across the product lifecycle. Responsibilities of this role may include:
Technical leadership over a large multidisciplinary team developing a complex capability
Leadership of communications to customers, other contractors, internal stakeholders, and government officials, including preparation and delivery of technical presentations
RF EW Mission Understanding
RF EW Concept of Operations Definition
RF EW System Requirements Definition and Management
RF EW System and Architecture Design
RF EW System Integration and Test
RF EW System Verification and Validation
RF EW System Test Planning and execution in a variety of environments
Proposals, including solution development, leadership of technical volumes, and oversight of cost and schedule estimation
Support to factory operations to ensure on time delivery of the highest quality products
Independent formulation and implementation of complex system solutions, with a specific focus on closure orientation and right sized solutions
This position will require you to be onsite in either Totowa or Wanye New Jersey. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of:
12 Years with BS
10 Years with MS/PhD
Possess an Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS)
Minimum 5 years of experience leading development of RF Electronic Warfare systems
Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
Expertise in System Architectures
Expert in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations.
Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test) through production
Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 13 years of experience or Ph.D. with 11 years of experience.
10 years of experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent leading development of Electronic Warfare systems
Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management
Formal Root Cause and Corrective Action training or equivalent experience
Model based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw
Experience with Electronic Warfare systems and RADAR systems
Active United States security clearance, Top Secret, SCI Eligible
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
