Job Summary : The Sr. Supervisor of Revenue Management is responsible for leading high level analytical Revenue Management capabilities, which focuses on pricing and margin management of Wawa’s retail offering. This role will be accountable for managing and achieving targets of the annual budget objectives, associated with pricing in addition to maintaining responsibility for the LRP process. They will do this through use of a holistic merchandise pricing framework to provide insightful analytics that drive actionable price recommendations that are linked to brand positioning, that strengthen relationships with consumers and that lead to long-term sales growth and profitability. This position will also play a vital role in providing pricing thought leadership and working with the MCoE Pricing Product Manager on development and deployment of changes to the pricing product.
Principal Duties:
Manage the annual budget and long-range planning processes for Marketing to ensure an accurate, timely, and aligned long-range plan. Prepare detailed and accurate monthly and ad-hoc analysis for senior Marketing leadership that provides value and actionable information for management to react to issues or opportunities.
Lead the revenue management team in deploying current pricing strategy. Contribute to the continued refinement and build of the pricing strategy.
Develop annual category/brand pricing recommendations across categories/key store clusters/regions and provide appropriate contingencies.
Evaluate effectiveness of portfolio price architecture and develop recommendations for refinement or to capture new opportunities.
Drive new initiatives to streamline business processes, eliminate non-value added costs, reduce complexity, and champion productivity improvement within Marketing.
Lead sustainable ideation sessions to ignite and inspire creativity; bringing out the best ideas within Marketing. Educate and influence management to lead ideation sessions within their teams.
Set brand price positioning and define target price gaps and size relationships.
Recommend pricing strategies for new products rooted in analytics and consumer, category and competitive insights.
Collaborate with Category teams to ensure planned execution against strategic pricing decisions.
Lead contact and coordinator of Category requests. Serve as the day-to-day contact for Category teams and Marketing leadership for all things pricing-related.
Build relationships and influence key decision makers across internal (Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Strat Sourcing) & external (Vendors) that touch pricing.
Provide thought leadership and holistic perspective around pricing and promotion strategies and translate into actionable recommendations.
Lead in existing pricing product tool management, such as pricing engine, workflow management, and business adoption.
Provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, and opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.
Essential Functions:
Proven ability to formulate pricing strategies that enhance portfolio/brand value and connect with business strategy
Conceptual ability to develop robust models for forecasting and pricing
Ability to understand and address complex business issues and multi-functional operating strategies
Knowledge of retail industry, customers and marketplace pricing dynamics
Self-direction with resourcefulness to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities and opportunities change quickly
Effective communicator who can influence others
Adept at story telling; strong communication skills both verbal and written
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with Business concentration preferred
Minimum seven years’ experience in business analysis, preferably in consumer goods or foodservice setting
Proven track record of thought leadership
Prior supervisory experience preferred
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database skills
SAP, BW and Microstrategy experience preferred
Ability to use statistical techniques such as regression analysis
