POSITION OVERVIEW:
Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic 7th/8th Grade Special Education (Instructional Strategist) Teacher to join our middle school team. This position offers the opportunity to inspire young learners during a critical developmental stage while working collaboratively in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide specialized instruction adapted to individual student needs and learning styles
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and support staff
Collaborate with grade-level and content team members
Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of roster students
Deliver instruction in various settings, including resource rooms, self-contained classrooms, and general education classrooms, using co-teaching or pull-out models
Maintain effective classroom management and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
Assess student work, provide meaningful feedback, and maintain accurate records
Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives, adjusting instruction as needed
Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and administration
Participate actively in team meetings and professional learning communities
Partner with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented in the least restrictive environment
Support the school's mission of growing, learning, and leading
Contribute to a culture where all students experience belonging, opportunity, and achievement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Instructional Strategist I (or willing to obtain)
