    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic 7th/8th Grade Special Education (Instructional Strategist) Teacher to join our middle school team. This position offers the opportunity to inspire young learners during a critical developmental stage while working collaboratively in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide specialized instruction adapted to individual student needs and learning styles

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and support staff

  • Collaborate with grade-level and content team members

  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of roster students

  • Deliver instruction in various settings, including resource rooms, self-contained classrooms, and general education classrooms, using co-teaching or pull-out models

  • Maintain effective classroom management and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Assess student work, provide meaningful feedback, and maintain accurate records

  • Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives, adjusting instruction as needed

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and administration

  • Participate actively in team meetings and professional learning communities

  • Partner with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented in the least restrictive environment

  • Support the school's mission of growing, learning, and leading

  • Contribute to a culture where all students experience belonging, opportunity, and achievement

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Instructional Strategist I (or willing to obtain)
