Dale Howard Auto Center of Waverly is seeking an experienced technician to step into a Shop Foreman role overseeing workflow, diagnostics, and technician performance. Ideal candidate has strong diagnostic experience, leadership ability, and dealership background.
Salary position. Leadership role. No flat rate. No weekends.
Purpose of the Position:
The Shop Foreman will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring the efficient, effective, and high-quality repair and maintenance of customer vehicles. This role involves supervising the repair shop team, ensuring that all service work is completed to dealership and manufacturer standards, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Maximize Labor Capacity and Performance
- Dispatch work efficiently and fairly based on technician training and skill level.
- Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
Essential Job Functions:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of automotive technicians, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Delegate tasks to technicians based on skill levels, work priorities, and job requirements.
Monitor employee performance and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Oversee the repair process to ensure that all work meets the dealerships standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Perform final inspections of completed jobs to ensure proper execution and compliance with repair guidelines. Address any rework or concerns related to completed jobs.
Coordinate the daily work schedule for technicians, ensuring timely completion of all repairs and services. Ensure that repair orders are properly documented and accurate, including the proper assignment of labor times and parts usage.
Monitor job status, ensure efficiency, and resolve any workflow issues or bottlenecks.
- Communicate with service advisors, customers, and management to ensure clear understanding of service needs, expectations, and timelines. Address customer concerns related to vehicle repairs and service quality as needed, aiming for prompt and satisfactory resolution.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the team to keep up with industry advancements, new vehicle technologies, and best practices. Ensure that technicians are cross-trained on multiple vehicle makes and models as required.
- Enforce safety policies and practices in the shop to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Maintain proper documentation for warranty, service records, and other required paperwork. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, waste disposal, and hazardous materials handling.
- Assist in managing shop productivity reports, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with the Service Manager to set department goals, track performance, and help ensure the dealership meets service revenue targets.

Ensures that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training.
Conducts regular performance reviews for all technicians in accordance with dealership guidelines.
