Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Preschool Aide at Wauseon Primary School. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a positive learning environment for young children. The Preschool Aide will work closely with teachers and staff to support the developmental and educational needs of preschool students, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing atmosphere.
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
- 7 hours per day/184 days per year (summers off)

Responsibilities
Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
Support children in their social, emotional, and physical development, encouraging positive interactions and behaviors.
Supervise students during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Help prepare classroom materials and resources, maintaining an organized and inviting learning environment.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.
Assist with meal and snack times, ensuring proper hygiene and nutrition practices are followed.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including maintaining attendance records and assisting with assessments.
Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and effective educational experience for all students.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or educational setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from lead teachers and administrators.
Basic knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
First Aid and CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities as needed to support the preschool program.
